The Department
The Alfred Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which involves a number of clinical areas and units including; Medical Oncology, Clinical Haematology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Apheresis, State-wide Haemophilia Service, Radiation Oncology, Clinical Trials, Palliative Care and the Victorian Melanoma Service.
Approximately 6200 appointments were scheduled for cancer patients across 2022 for malignant and non-malignant haematology, medical oncology, radiation oncology and the Victorian Melanoma Service.
Position Summary
Alfred Cancer are seeking an experienced Administration Supervisor who will perform a range of leadership and administrative tasks as well as provide supervision of the administration staff for Alfred Cancer specialist clinics.
Skills and Experience Required
- Personable, customer focused approach and commitment to high quality service
- Previous experience and proven skills as a Supervisor of staff preferably within a hospital setting.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to interact and deal with a large professional team.
- Demonstrated high level time management and interpersonal skills
- Motivated and enthusiastic with a positive attitude towards work and colleagues
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word for Windows, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to attend to a variety of administrative duties
- Understanding of confidentiality and privacy legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to plan work flows, prioritise and delegate in order to meet deadlines.
