Are you an experienced Cloud Platform Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity? Perpetual Digital is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our Cloud Platform squad as a Chapter Lead.

As a key member of the squad, you will be responsible for overseeing DevOps, Security, and Site Reliability, driving cross-team tooling and services to empower our engineering teams' productivity and quality.

Sounds interesting? Here are some specifics about the opportunity:

  • Lead and manage a squad of 3-5 highly motivated engineers
  • Manage your own task pipeline, as well as those in your squad, to deliver key outcomes for the business
  • Guide, coach, manage and develop best-in-class engineers across internal teams and external consultants
  • Oversee resource allocation to ensure appropriate business and staff development goals are met
  • Work and code with engineering squads to improve DevSecOps practices (this is a hands-on role)
  • Drive DevSecOps as a culture with the other engineering squads in the organisation
  • Provide deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure best practices and security standards
  • Manage the Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and automation processes
  • Help drive the engineering rhythm and process of the team from planning and design to coding and deployment, through to support
  • Collaborate with other business units such as Group IT, compliance and Cyber as required
  • Continuously improve your skills and help the squad improve its processes.
To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills and experience could include:

  • A "You build it, you own it" mentality
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • The ability to work productively as part of an agile squad
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, specifically serverless, App Service, API Management, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL DB, T-SQL and, Azure AD, multi-tenant architecture
  • A background in software development
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM, terraform, etc)
  • Hands-on experience with CICD and strong continuous delivery fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with observability and site reliability best practices
  • Experience building infra and tooling for supporting containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • A solid and up-to-date understanding of security best practices, with a focus on cloud controls, design, incident handling procedures and management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to document complex technical problems
  • An engineer-first mindset and passion for building tooling that other engineers love to use
  • Strong technical team leadership, mentorship and collaboration based on a hands-on approach to design and technical work.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships across the organisation, product, and engineering
  • A desire to continually improve the way that you, and your squad, work.
It would be great to bring, but is not required to have:

  • Experience with serverless and serverless architectures
  • Experience in designing and securing microservices deployed to the cloud
  • Professional certifications in Azure Cloud and/or TOGAF
  • Experience with.
NET, C#, and Typescript.
