The Role

As a Strategic Policy Manager, you will provide timely advice to ASD leadership, develop strategic plans to align ACSC effort with government direction and/or develop and maintain the ACSC's evaluation frameworks.


Once in the role, you will build collaborative relationships across the organisation and wider government, to develop a better understanding of the cyber security environment and create better strategic solutions to this challenging field.


About our Team


The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) is looking for Strategic Policy Officers to fill several positions within the Cyber Engagement and Strategy (CES) Division.

CES Division drives strategic planning and evaluation, policy analysis, programs management and industry engagement for the ACSC. It is also responsible for public communications and Ministerial and Parliamentary communications on behalf of wider ASD.

  • Be accountable for managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility, guiding and developing people.
  • Be accountable for managing allocated resources, delivering on outcomes, setting work area priorities, managing work flows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.
  • Lead and participate in organisational strategic planning, to support ACSC to deliver on its objectives.
  • Engage with cyberrelated legislative and policy developments across government, and ensure ACSC equities and advice are represented.
  • Draft briefing materials, policy and planning documents, reports, ministerial correspondence.
  • Gauge the impact of ACSC activities against strategic measures, to establish ACSCs strategic impact and support senior decision making.
  • Develop and maintain the ACSC evaluation framework.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to further ASD's national security objectives.
