Bondi Public School P&C Association is looking for someone to join our team of all-stars at the Bondi Public School Canteen.

The role is perfect for someone who's looking for a great work/life balance or needs shorter working hours to spend more time with the kids.

The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3pm, approximately 26 hours a week and school terms only. The role includes 6 weeks paid leave and approximately 6 weeks unpaid leave, during school holidays throughout the year.

Bondi Public School and its community of parents are extremely proud of our well-established canteen, with its excellent reputation for providing delicious, healthy and nutritious food that is made from scratch on-site, and is beloved by students and staff.

A key task, as part of your everyday, will be cooking - so kitchen skills are essential.

You will also work closely with the Canteen Manager to assist the day-to-day operations such as managing the online menu and ordering system, stock control, and ordering and purchasing as required.

The successful applicant would ideally have previous commercial kitchen experience and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment, producing a high volume of snacks and meals each day.

A desire to help with menu planning and support our canteen manager is also a plus. They will also work well with non-cooks, as parent volunteers are vital to our canteen's operations.


The successful applicant will possess:

• Demonstrated cooking skills
• A good knowledge of food prep, food handling and food hygiene
• A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently
• A focus on continuing the ethos of delicious, nutritional and wholesome food
• A friendly and positive personality to engage with members of the school and parents that volunteer
• Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills

Prior experience working in a school canteen or hospitality would be considered favourably.

The role requires a paid Working With Children Check and is a smoke-free environment.
