An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced
Freight & Distribution Manager working within our medical division based in our
Macquarie Park office.
The role of the Freight & Distribution Manager is to coordinate with the sales team and 3rd party service providers to ensure the efficient flow of products to customers in a timely manner.
This role will also lead and develop a team to drive and improve business outcomes for the medical device distribution space.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage overall logistics and warehouse operations to ensure effective and efficient flow of products and distributions activities
- Act as primary interface between field customers and other key internal stake holders
- Supervise and develop Freight & Distribution Specialist
- Act as supplier owner from vendor selection, evaluation, performance monitoring and cost analysis & control including customs agent, 3PL, transportation
- Monitor 3PL Service level and in compliance with QMS and Abbott SOP
- Perform performance tracking / reporting / analysis (KPI, cost control, analysis of discrepancy)
- Resolve customer's complaints to customer satisfaction and proactively seek to identify root cause to prevent reoccurrence
- Setup warehouse environment and warehouse operations fulfilling Abbott SOP and local regulations
- Setup necessary processes to full local regulations including local labelling and IFU
Experience Required:
- Bachelor degree in business/operations management/supply chain/equivalent;
- 7 to 10 years' experience with at least 2 years at supervisory level
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong ability to lead small team.
