As one of the Engine Managers you will lead a team which manages the Qantas Airlines and customer fleets of Engines from one of the key engine manufacturers to deliver safety, regulatory compliance, commercial compliance, operational reliability, and engine availability at optimised cost.

This position will be the technical and commercial focal with one of the major engine manufacturers and is responsible for development of engine maintenance strategies, contract and supplier management.

You'll have

  • Professional qualifications in Engineering and commerce (or equivalent experience).
  • Extensive experience working in commercial aircraft engines focusing on singe or suite of suppliers.
  • Deep understanding of aircraft and engine maintenance and reliability programs as well as maintenance cost drivers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of continuing airworthiness management regulations and international regulations governing aircraft and engine certification.
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills including the ability to influence, coach and mentor others
  • The ability to work and succeed in an environment with multiple regulatory bodies, clients and partner airlines.
  • Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within Qantas and other customers.
  • Proven problemsolving skills, particularly when under pressure.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise competing tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Proven engine planning and budgeting experience.
  • Significant experience liaising with, negotiating with, and managing OEMs and other suppliers and contract management.
  • Commitment to Qantas Engineering areas of focus: People and Operational Safety, QE brand, QE unit cost, Operational excellence, Engagement.
