Sustainability is a key pillar of Australia Post's Post26 strategy, underpinned by everything we do for the planet, people and prosperity - but what it needs is you: a passionate, senior leader to evolve and lead our Sustainability roadmap into the future, and help us deliver a better tomorrow for all Australians.

About the opportunity

A key focus of your role will also be to enhance Australia Post's reputation as a leader in sustainability practices externally, ensuring our ambitions are both understood and achieved - with the ultimate goal of helping our communities to thrive.

What you'll deliver with us

Our achievements over the past three years demonstrate that, by integrating sustainability into how we do business, we've brought about positive economic, social and environmental value for the community.

Now's your opportunity to take the reins and deliver that same impact into the future.

In this role you have the opportunity to

  • Govern the sustainability programs across the enterprise, including reporting to, and engagement with the Australia Post Board, the Australia Post Stakeholder Council and provide a central coordination to integrate and execute corporate responsibility activity throughout the organisation.
  • Capture and track Australia Post's progress against the 2025 Sustainability Roadmap.
  • Monitor the organisation's practices and commitments in relation to industry standards and global agreements i.e. UN Global Compact, Global Reporting Initiative and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Lead the enterprise's reporting process including nonfinancial (sustainability) data for the annual report, online and/or via other forums; and the enterprise materiality process.
  • Lead the enterprise's approach to Modern Slavery, reporting annually in line with Commonwealth legislation.
  • Support the delivery of the 2025 Sustainability Roadmap, including development and coordination of the stakeholder engagement plan and participation in relevant forums.
  • Provide advice on international best practice in sustainability.
  • Develop communications, capabilities and processes to build sustainability practices across the enterprise.

About you

You're an innovative, influential and passionate Leader in Sustainability who's ready to manage a high performing team to lead, evolve and deliver the 2025 Sustainability Roadmap.

You'll have:

  • A demonstrated ability to influence and facilitate change in large, complex organisations, in addition to proven achievement in Sustainability policy and program innovation, development and implementation is essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills: time management skills; ability to prioritise workloads of team members without compromising quality work outputs, and an ability to work alone, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent personal communication skills, including ability to gain support, influence, convince, negotiate, present and consult, and represent Australia Post in internal and external forums.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including ability to prepare and present comprehensive briefs, reports and initiatives and other material to senior and executive management, and to staff at all levels.
  • Highly developed conceptual thinking and organisational problemsolving skills with proven ability to analyse complex problems, identify critical issues and develop strategies for delivering solutions.

How we'll deliver for you

  • We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day. They're the TIES that bind our team together
  • Immerse yourself in the AP Way where every single team member partakes in a learning module to help understand the vital role we play in delivering on our strategy and purpose
