What is the role?


Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Leader Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).


As the Team Leader of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), your primary responsibility will be to lead the design, implementation, management and continuous improvement of M&E capability for SHIELD.

Using our M&E framework, you will play a critical role in measuring the effectiveness, impact, and efficiency of our program, services and initiatives.

The position requires a strong understanding of evidence-based performance measures and their importance in demonstrating the value of the business to the organisation.


You will work closely with teams cross SHIELD to support the development of initiative KPIs, conduct and analyse annual implementation survey, develop performance dashboard(s) and transition M&E from program focused to longer term business performance measures to ensure its strategic alignment to the organisational goals.


As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual.

Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?


Requirements of this role consist of, but are not limited to:

Lead the design, implementation and management of performance frameworks that measure the business performance and progress towards its strategic goals and objectives.

Developing specific tools needed for mixed-method data collection, analysis and reporting in line with the M&E strategy.
Develop and conduct a range of studies, including evaluations, lessons learned activities, and case studies.
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate evaluation findings and recommendations to key stakeholders to assist decision-making processes.
Work closely with SHIELD Program Team to integrate evaluation findings into lessons learnt to continuously improve performance of SHIELD.
Provide credible evidence in both visual and compressive manner to support ongoing program performance improvement.
Lead, train and provide guidance to staff members on M&E methodologies, data collection techniques and performance measurement concepts. Foster a culture of learning and evidence-based decision across SHIELD.
Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
