About the role:


Joining GEO Healthcare, the Manager Clinical Education is a key member of the Clinical Services Team and will support GEO Healthcare's delivery of Primary Healthcare Services to public prisons in Victoria.


Based at GEO Healthcare's Head Office, located in Melbourne's CBD, you will report to the Director, Clinical Services with the role responsible for the coordination of clinical education programs for employed and contracted health staff within GEO Healthcare.

This includes developing and reviewing GEO Healthcare's induction, annual competencies and professional development training materials.

You will also play a key role in administering scholarships and other support services to assist GEO Healthcare staff further develop their clinical capacity.


While being supported and led by the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to a positive and productive workplace culture and carry out all duties in accordance with the GEO Healthcare Values - Understanding, Respect, Accountability, Teamwork, Excellence.

You will also be required to, at times, attend any of the 13 GEO Healthcare locations.


By successfully contributing to a transition of provider and continuing to deliver and exceed the role's key accountabilities you will actively contribute to a service that will achieve positive healthcare outcomes for people in prison which is a key element in reducing recidivism across the prison system.


Skills and Experience:


  • Registration as a health professional with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Tertiary qualifications related to health and/or adult education.
  • Skills and expertise to develop, implement and evaluate online training modules and the use of technology to delivery clinical education programs.
  • Experience in development, implementation and evaluation of facetoface, selfdirected induction and professional development programs for clinical staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing, monitoring and evaluating the clinical workforce's learning and development needs and requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of undergraduate and postgraduate health related educational courses for a broad range of clinical and other health staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills; and demonstrated experience in working with both management and staff on staff educational and development requirements.

Other Requirements of the role:


  • Ability to work within a correctional setting, which will involve direct contact with prisoners associated with the delivery of healthcare.
  • Valid and current full Australian driver's licence.
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Working outside of ordinary hours may be required.
