About the role

Reporting to the Director of Capability & Impact, you will be responsible for the management of the finance functions of Oxfam Australia.

This key leadership role will see you working with the Executive Leadership Team in leading the annual budgeting and reporting processes, providing strategic oversight of all financial matters, managing performance and building capability across the finance team.


Duties

  • Developing, implementing and managing the strategic direction of the finance function
  • Providing leadership on all financial management issues within Oxfam Australia
  • Providing timely and accurate management information and analysis to the executive management team and the Board in relation to budgets, financial performance, economic evaluation and general financial analysis
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, legal, tax and regulatory obligations and requirements are met
  • Management of all treasury matters including forecasting and reporting of cash flow and investment function and risk
  • Overseeing the insurance program
  • Representing Oxfam at international, national and regional forums as required
  • Ensuring Oxfam fully complies with the Oxfam International standards
  • Developing and leading a high performing team, while maximising employee engagement and enablement across the function

Skills and Experience
You are CA/CPA qualified, and have compiled an impressive track record and reputation as a high achieving finance leader.

You have highly developed technical accounting skills and commercial acumen, along with proven experience managing complex and high level stakeholder relationships.

You are a big picture thinker who is able to reason at a conceptual level and drive change, while still maintaining a strong attention to detail and a hands on approach.


Crucially, you are a natural leader with a high degree of integrity and professionalism, a "can do" attitude, and are comfortable with autonomy, ambiguity and adaptability.

Equally, you have the confidence and credibility to engage effectively and build relationships at Board level, and with senior executives and operational stakeholders.
