About the role


The ICT Commercial Lead is responsible for driving high quality budget and financial management, investment planning, and scenario modelling, to enable optimisation of investment opportunities and maximum return on investment for Council across all ICT products and services.


Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Be a proactive stakeholder in the commercial modelling of ongoing expenditure and new investments for ICT and ensure these activities are undertaken with appropriate governance, controls, and probity
  • Coordinate the financial and budget management policies, practices, and reporting with a high degree of efficacy and accuracy
  • Proactively identify and manage investment opportunities, cost savings and early benefit realisation across the ICT portfolio
  • Ensure Council maximises value and extracts optimum benefit to ensure strategic sourcing, procurement practices and vendor and contract development and management for consumptive contracts
  • Manage the ICT Commercial team (2 direct reports), providing effective leadership, direction and professional development opportunities in the relevant areas of delivery within the team's remit

About you
To be successful in this role you will be a problem solver with excellent customer service skills along with:

  • Possession of graduate or post-graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or extensive experience
  • Ability to align ICT strategy with organisational business goals and objectives
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of government legislation, policies and programmes relating to financial and procurement activities
  • Extensive knowledge of integrated computerised financial systems relating to finance management operations
  • High level of accounting skills in relation to budget development, management, and reporting
  • Highlevel analytical, research, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills
  • Highlevel of leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with senior management, customers and staff
  • High level of experience in participating in a multidisciplinary team within an environment of rapid change and to set work priorities, monitor workflows and initiate work autonomously

About the benefits


This is a fulltime permanent position level 7, with a salary between $110,575 to $117,271 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
