About the role

We're seeking a Head of Strategy and Planning, who will be responsible for setting and driving the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) technology strategy, target state and roadmap agenda to enable overall business direction and growth.

You'll be a key member of an innovative, world leading team of engineers and technologists who design, engineer and operate our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

We develop the brightest ideas and bring the most inspired engineering into enable safer, more efficient, and more sustainable Transport Technology solutions, ensuring the smooth and safe flow of traffic over Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane traffic corridors.

As our Head of Strategy and Planning, you'll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities.

You will be at the forefront of the intelligent transport systems engineering discipline, leading industry experts and working across our organisation to bring the best of the future to today.

Day-to-day you will lead a team to:

Provide expert insight on developments in ITS technologies by domain
emerging technologies in transport management and the digital transformation of the transport experience
Define the domain target states and roadmaps, within Transurban Enterprise Architecture
Support teams to actualise the target state through strategic and multi-year Asset Life-Cycle Management planning
Support specific innovation initiatives with ITS capabilities to realise the benefits of emerging solutions
Engaging the external market to position Transurban as a leader, leveraging market-leading ITS capabilities
Lead technical communities of practice across the domains
Design and assure our overarching ITS asset management framework

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

Experienced as a leader of technical teams
Strong knowledge and technical experience across the ITS Domains
Ability to compare, evaluate and communicate strategic options & direction, plan and enable execution
Ability to lead through influence and collaboration
Proven ability to solve complex problems and link from strategic to operational matters
Experience in delivering for or within innovation portfolios or pipelines
