Right now, we are experiencing exciting growth across the country and are seeking a smart and energised a Principal Specialist, Material Program Management to join our talented Contracts & Supply Chain team.


This role is accountable for the development, coordination and execution of supply chain strategies, encompassing, procurement, warehousing and distribution, and supplier management for bid, pre-program preparation and during program execution activities.

The Principal Specialist, Material Program Management integrates supply and demand management across multifunctional capabilities to establish and execute a coordinated plan to deliver supply chain requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise between the program and functional leads to deliver supply chain requirements and manage supplier performance.
  • Lead the development, coordination, and execution of the supply chain strategy and program plans to achieve program requirements and ensure program performance.
  • Assist with the definition of requirements and development of the bill of materials for programs, including crossfunctional inputs.
  • Lead the development of supply chain proposals, including statement of requirement, bases of estimates, and identification of opportunities for Australian Industry Capability and indigenous engagement.
  • Lead requirements forecasting and implementation of efficiency improvements and the coordination and control of the flow of materials and services to meet program requirements.
  • Lead planning and implementation of negotiation strategies.
  • Implement and manage material delivery schedules to achieve material availability in accordance with program schedule / 'production' requirements.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business and/or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 57 years prior relevant procurement and/or purchasing experience.
  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
  • Experience in Australia Defence Industry is desirable.
  • Practical knowledge of project management is desirable.
