Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:

Lyell McEwin Hospital - The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.


Modbury Hospital - A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.

You will be part of a growing Local Health Network (LHN) that provides an expanding suite of treatment modalities in contemporary, modern facilities.


About the Role:


An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Consultant Rheumatology within the Division of Medicine.


As a Consultant you will be responsible for the provision of an effective General Medicine Service within the objectives and the philosophies of the Hospital.


Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • provision of medical care to public inpatients and outpatients.
- provision of training and supervision to undergraduate and post graduate medical trainees.
- encouraging and supporting teamwork amongst staff for optimal clinical service outcomes.
- participation in quality, safety, and clinical risk management activities.
- involvement in continuing professional development activities.
- participation in after hours remote call roster will be required.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.

Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.


The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
