Samsung Ads, we are looking for
a Data Analyst in Sydney
Samsung Ads, the advertising monetization arm of Samsung Electronics, leverages proprietary real-time TV viewing behaviour and insights to promote relevant brands and content experiences to consumers.
We partner with brands, agencies and content owners to deliver unique advertising opportunities on native placements within our Smart TV platform and programmatically with a cross-device solution.
Samsung's unique first-party data help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets and our Smart TVs.
The Samsung Ad platform delivers high-quality audience targeting powered by three key components: first-party audience data at scale, world-class data science, and brand-safe cross-device ad inventory.
The opportunity
We're looking for an innovative individual to support the Samsung Ads Analytics team.
This full-time position will create reporting solutions from one of the richest TV viewership/media consumption databases in the industry today.
- not just report numbers.This role will report to the APAC Analytics Lead.
Responsibilities
Data Analytics
- Data quality and standards implementation
- Enhance open data collection to include information that is relevant for the business
- Maintain databases servicing the Insights Team to improve efficiency
- Develop and deploy automated solutions to facilitate the decision making process
Sales & Insights
- Translate business requirements into SQL queries and Python scripts for Ad Hoc analysis and new reporting solutions
- Deliver innovative consumer insights solutions for proactive engagements with agencies and clients
- Tune and optimize current reporting solutions
- Explore data to identify trends and anomalies, develop new analytical capabilities/solutions, and find new monetization opportunities
- Datadriven insights for briefs responses and marketing narrative
- Document business requirements
Team Support
Ability to translate technical analysis into actionable insights for a non-technical audience
Develop working relationships and exchange best practices with other Samsung Ads entities such as North America and Europe
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science/engineering or quantitative discipline (Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics). Masters Preferred.
- Strong statistical acumen
- 3+ years in a related engineering/analytics work/data mining
- Strong SQL skills 3+ years using SQL
- Strong Python and/or R skills 2+ years working with Python and/or R for data manipulation, cleansing and automation
- Strong BI Experience
- Experience with AWS tools such as EC2 and S
- Jira, Confluence, GitHub and other agile development tool experience
Bonus
- Familiarity with media, TV measurement
- DOMO Experience
- Linux Experience
- Dash and/or Shiny or any other library
