  • Genomic Diagnostics is the national genomics laboratory for Healius Pathology. We provide comprehensive genomic testing, spanning reproductive health, inherited disease, pharmacogenomics, oncology, and relationship testing, to an extensive network of public and private hospitals and community referrers across Australia. Our primary focus is to provide high quality and timely genomic information to assist in diagnosis and clinical decisionmaking.
    Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fortnightly quality and risk reports to the Operations Manager, including current status of quality and risk management activities (complete, ongoing and planned)
  • Produce summary reports of key quality and risk performance indicators and other activities for review and discussion at GD quality and risk management meetings
  • Lead quality and risk components of all projects at GD
  • Supervise the maintenance of laboratory accreditation
  • Coordinate audits conducted by external accreditation and regulatory bodies
  • Schedule, coordinate, perform and document internal audits
  • Coordinate the laboratory response to feedback from internal and external audits, including management of identified nonconformances and risks and formulation of written response to external bodies
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to the position of Quality and Risk Manager

To be successful:


  • Tertiary qualifications in science
  • Leadershiplevel experience in the implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems and risk management processes
  • Previous employment in a health service and/or scientific laboratory, ideally in diagnostic pathology
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance, laboratory risk management and quality improvement concepts with emphasis on continuous improvement and organisational change
  • Extensive working knowledge of medical testing laboratory accreditation requirements and standards . .
