_Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to join our team at Concord Repatriation General Hospital_


The primary purpose of the role of Staff Specialist in Cardiology is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Cardiology, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Cardiology Department and Hospital as required.


The Staff Specialist will contribute do diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures in the catheterisation laboratory, and transoesophageal and transthoracic echocardiographic procedures, and will be expected to contribute to the On Call roster.

The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.


The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Cardiology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.


All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.


To be employed by NSW Health, you are required to provide evidence of current immunity status that complies with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy.
