Operational Officer, Wildlife Management - Canberra, Australia - ACT Government
Description
The position will work within a small team to provide planning advice and logístical support for the successful delivery of program.
It reports to the Manager, Invasive Animals and Overabundant species.Under limited direction, the position will:
- Complete the operational priority plan for the ACT pest animal aerial control program.
- Develop maps and operational plan for programs
- Provide advice and develop operational strategies for program delivery by identifying and outlining the constraints and opportunities for operational areas.
- Develop an operational structure that supports staff and contractors to implement programs safely and effectively.
- Liaise with Urban Reserve Managers to ensure resource allocation is adequate for program implementation
- Develop and maintain operational roster
- Coordinate full logístical support to enable program delivery
- Organise all vehicles, Plant and equipment and staging areas required for operations.
- Maintain records in accordance with the _Territory Records Act 2002_
Eligibility/other requirements:
- Extensive experience and demonstrated skills in developing and implementing integrated natural resource management programs, with a proven capacity to plan and deliver works programs
- Demonstrated experience in working within Incident Management Teams in operational, planning or logistics.
- Welldeveloped written and oral communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the work health and Safety issues relevant to land and natural resource management and a good appreciation of the principles of risk management
- Demonstrated ability to consistently display commitment to the implementation of the principles of workplace diversity, participative work practices, workplace health and safety, and compliance with the requirements of the _Territory Records Act._
