    Location: Eastern Creek

    Salary: $100K - $110K + Super based on experience

    Role Benefit: This position will see you managing the procurement function of a growing construction materials business. Fantastic opportunity to step into a standalone position and make this role your own.

    Role Overview

    As the Procurement Specialist, you will report into the CFO. You will be responsible for the ordering and purchasing of third-party goods, packaging, and other materials for operational requirements. You will ensure there are optimal levels of stock to fulfill customer orders, co-ordinate the inventory function and assist in providing reliable and accurate information. This role conduct stocktakes in line with company procedures and communicates stock balances with relevant business departments.

    The key success factor will be your ability and drive to build and grow the procurement function of this company. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual who has solid experience across procurement in construction materials and/or manufacturing and who is a natural self-starter with an analytical mindset.

    Responsibilities

    • Manages and leads a team of 1 direct report
    • Manages the purchase order cycle to meet delivery timeframes
    • Updates accounting inventory records
    • Inputs data for stock inventory
    • Co-ordinates stock movements for each of the production functions, allocating the correct stock for what is required
    • Provides information to allow purchasers maximum time for effective negotiation
    • Collects sales information and assist in preparing trend reports
    • Recommends sources of supply of goods, materials
    • or services and obtains quotations for requests and specifications received from other departments
    • Maintains contact with suppliers to ensure that quality of material purchased is to company standards
    • Purchases materials, equipment and/or supplies, under supervision, at best price in relation to quality, quantity and delivery requirements
    • Monitors delivery requirements to conform to the company's schedules and plans
    • Assists in the administration of records and files for efficient operation
    • Preparing plans for the purchase of supplies to meet seasonal growth
    • Adherence to the company's procurement policies and procedures.
    • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
    • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
    • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
    • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers for niche raw materials.
    • Preparing cost analyses, and reports as required
    • Complete Weekly / Monthly stock takes in line with business requirements
    • Communicate with key stakeholder internally and externally on stock levels and availability

    Candidate Profile

    To be successful in this role you will have present with proven, stable experience within an end-to-end Procurement position in ideally either a manufacturing or construction materials environment. You are a self-starter who is passionate about improving the operational performance of an organisation. With a strong understanding of procurement and inventory control, you will be looking for a new challenge and make your mark within the organisation.
