Our complex, multi-disciplinary projects support Queensland Rail in delivering quality, customer focused railway infrastructure solutions for the communities we serve.


About the role:

This is exciting - We have a rare, part-time, temporary opportunity for an Administration Officer.

This will be for 2 days per week, for approximately 6 months starting in early January 2024 through to the end of June 2024.


Reporting to the Project Stakeholder Support Manager and based in the Brisbane CBD area near Central Station, you will be part of a team providing general administration support to a team of approximately 140 staff.

In addition, you will be responsible for the completion of the below essential tasks:


  • Payroll
  • SAP Purchase Order creation and Goods Receipting
  • SAP labour costings
  • Work order creation
  • Travel bookings and monitoring pool vehicle usage
  • Purchasing (Ordering supplies and equipment)
  • Data entry of training requests, toolbox talks etc
  • Allocating and tracking IT / Telecoms equipment.


You will contribute as a team member towards achieving best practice in the smooth, efficient, and responsive delivery of all administrative support functions.

About you:

You will have administrative experience, ideally in a large team environment.

Additionally, your experience with applicable systems will be appreciated - this includes SAP systems, Learning Management System (LMS), and the Microsoft Office suite especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Your customer service and relationship development skills will be highly valued as you will liaise with a large and diverse team and develop successful relationships with stakeholders.


You will be a confident communicator in all channels with confidence to follow up staff regarding deadlines and agreed actions.


What we are looking for:


  • Substantial level of skill in providing administrative services and support.
  • Substantial level of organisational skills.
  • Substantial level of skill in the use of contemporary office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Substantial level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Substantial level of skill in working in a team environment and with mínimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours
