As Project Officer (Construction), you will assist in the delivery of a program of social housing capital works projects to ensure they are delivered within scope, time and cost parameters.

The role is critical to ensure that social housing capital projects deliver quality, cost effective outcomes and program objectives are successfully achieved.


In this position you will:


  • Participate in the effective management of social housing construction projects at both program and project level, including the design, tender, construction stage.
  • Coordinate project activities and tasks including tenancy relocation, demolition, monitoring variations, project completion and handover, and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Build and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders including Service Providers and Housing Service Centres to improve and support the delivery of completed construction projects, including onsite visits.
  • Prepare and coordinate a range of project documents, including but not limited to Briefing Notes, Financial Approvals, Gate Forms and ministerial correspondence.
  • Identify program and project risks and issues and implement strategies to treat and mitigate those risks and issues.
  • Prepare, review and analyse a range of program, project and financial reports including cashflows, gantt charts, variance reports, scurves and project and program status reports.
  • Record, monitor and maintain project and program data and records from a range of programs including CIMS, SAP and Reside and assist in the development of protocols and processes for recording, reporting and managing information.
  • Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of daytoday operations.
