The Third Party Engagement Management (TPEM) team delivers services to HSBC's 1st line businesses and functions.

The role of the Head of Third Party Engagement Management is to lead the operationalization and execution of Supplier Management (SM), Third Party Risk, Third party resilience and the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided to HSBC.


The role holder will:

interface with key businesses, functions and stakeholders to manage a team that execute against third party management and controls, MI and analytics from a risk, supplier management, outsourcing, and criticality perspective and provide governance input to the Country third party governance forum.


You will ensure the bank is protected from the risks of using external third parties by managing the delivery of services against the established framework and guidance.

The purpose of the role is to manage the team of TPEMs who manage relationship with vendors that sit within WPB Operations, throughout the contract lifecycle.

The role holder will also directly manage vendor relationships.


Responsibilities:


  • Build and motivate a capable, supportive, engaged and challenged local Third Party Engagement Management Team
  • Operate as the SME and key point of decision and connection between the business and the TPEM team for all matters relating to third party management including performance, risk and control management, resilience opportunities for performance and service improvement and simplification to drive value to the Bank.
  • Oversee all TPEM Community Own vendor relationships to ensure team members understand operational services and perform supplier performance activities, ensuring all risks are controlled and contractual obligations met.
  • Build relationship and interact with business process and control owners to maintain current knowledge of the operations and business, operational and/or technological changes impacting operational risk and internal controls.
  • Manage and advocate HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operations risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.

Requirements:


  • Strong understanding of operational risk and control along with Group's Operational Risk Framework
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work independently under pressure within a team environment, People management experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment
  • Demonstrable experience of managing operational risk within appetite during operational change and reorganisation
  • Significant experience of implementing control frameworks
