About The Company


Melsteel, an established steel manufacturer in Melbourne, Victoria for over 30 years, seeks the following technical personnel to work in a small team environment within a purpose-built machine and fabrication complex.


About The Role - Structural Steel Fabricator:
A Structural Steel Fabricator is highly skilled in cutting and joining steel materials together using various welding techniques.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings to determine job requirements
  • Cutting and joining steel materials together using various welding techniques
  • Operating welding tools, hand tools and fabrication machinery
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks on equipment
  • Ensuring a safe work environment and adhering to health and safety protocols

Skills & Experience required:


  • Must be able to interpret drawings to achieve mark out, assembly, fabrication
  • Understand and comply with weld and other procedures, Quality Standards and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate by experience to weld and fabricate Structural Steel, Pipework and Plate. Other materials such as stainless and alloy would be beneficial
  • Ideal qualifications Metal Fabricator , Pressure Welder , Welder (First Class

The salary is $70,000 AUD per annum. This role is offered as a permanent position on a full-time basis.
