Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Specialist (Systems Engineer) to join a Technology Refresh and Data Centre Program.
This role will involve working on a range of Business as Usual (BAU) and Technology Refresh project activities.Responsibilities:
- Offer technical leadership and expert advice for the transformation of operational support and maintenance of enterpriseclass servers, SAN, virtualization, and Data Centre infrastructure.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with operational and project teams, vendors, other business units, and management to foster successful working relationships and deliver approved business requirements.
- Analyse and resolve issues within a complex ICT environment, ensuring alignment with project outcomes.
- Analyse, assess, and manage data migration and infrastructure upgrades to optimise storage, including exploring cloud solution options.
- Plan, document, and manage the implementation of processes, procedures, tools, and techniques for designing, monitoring, managing, and reporting on the performance and availability of ICT data platforms.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in operating systems Windows Server (2012/2016/2019) and RedHat Linux.
- Familiarity with Active Directory (2012, 2016), ADFS, and Azure AD.
- Extensive knowledge of Virtual Infrastructure (VMware 6.x, Nutanix Acropolis) and Blade Chassis' (HPE C7000 & Dell MX7000).
- Experience with Physical Servers (Blade & Rack) and SAN Technologies (Unity, VMAX, VNX, Isilon, ECS, Centera, HDS & Brocade FC).
- Proficiency in scripting, particularly PowerShell.
- Experience with Hybrid Public Cloud and On-Premise implementations.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Directory Services (Group Policy), DNS/DHCP/WINS, Windows Clustering/Network Load Balancing, and Microsoft Distributed File System.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL 2008/2012, System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM), and System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM).
- Cloud hosting operations support (Azure, AWS) experience.
- Proficiency in Web/Application Serving (Microsoft IIS).
- Strong understanding of the IT&T industry, technology trends, and related practices.
- ITIL v3/v4 qualification.
- Basic network administration experience with switches, routers, and firewalls.
