Role Details
The Manager, Government Business is a role within Office of the Chief Executive and is accountable to the Director, Office of the Chief Executive and Governance for:

  • providing effective strategic support and advice to the Director, Chief Executive, and Department
- leading a team to deliver a range of Ministerial liaison, governance, strategic and corporate responsibilities.


Key Outcomes/Accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic and complex support and advice and contribute to the decision making of the Director, Chief Executive and leadership team.
  • Lead, manage, motivate, and inspire a multi-disciplinary team to effectively deliver Ministerial liaison, governance, strategic and corporate functions.
  • Oversee implementation and operation of policies, practices and systems to support efficient and effective delivery of Ministerial liaison, governance, strategic and corporate functions, ensure legislative requirements are met, and strategic objectives are achieved.
  • Oversee and deliver strategic projects and business improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain effective strategic partnerships between the Office of the Chief Executive, the department and the Ministerial office(s).
  • Influence outcomes by developing and maintaining effective networks with internal and external stakeholders.

Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department.

The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.

About the Business


The Office of the Chief Executive and Governance is responsible for a range of functions, including executive support, governance responsibilities, ministerial and chief executive correspondence and briefings, ministerial cabinet coordination, parliamentary business, coordination of policy advice on inter-governmental and intra-governmental matters, business intelligence and analysis, risk management, and coordination of responsibilities for services the department provides to the community.


The division is a key component in overseeing all departmental business, and ultimately helps enable our department to deliver effective services and supports for the South Australian community.


Role Status:

Salary Range:
$117,554 - $121,992 (ASO8)
