Mutiple Role:


APS4 Compliance Officer will be required to provide operational and administrative support that is informed and directed by sound knowledge and may undertake some research and analysis activities.

  • Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing and auditing participant and provider data from multiple sources and assessing inconsistencies to ensure the agencies delivers services and payments in line with legislation and policies.
  • Engaging with providers and participants to address compliance requirement queries.
  • Undertaking activities to assess and treat the risk of noncompliance by participants and providers, including inappropriate claims.
  • Ensuring timely escalation of information and more complex cases to relevant teams for remediation in accordance with legislation.

The APS5 Compliance Officer will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.

  • Undertaking compliance activities in accordance with the relevant legislation, Agency guidelines and documented process.
  • Ensuring escalations and critical incidents are managed and maintaining accurate records of decisions using Excel and CRM based system products.
  • Analysing participant and provider data to assess payments made against participant plans.
  • Completing highly complex assessments to ensure payments are accurately delivered to customers.
  • Providing assistance and technical advice to support the team through mentoring, development opportunities and monitoring performance.

The APS5 Quality and Reporting Officer is accountable under limited supervision to undertake moderately complex to complex compliance activities and work. The position is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position will be required to provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation.

  • Reviewing and updating compliance processes, SOPs and taskcards in line with changes to policies and coordinating system change requests.
  • Generating reports from the Case Management System for workload management, prioritisation and executive updates.
  • Undertaking analysis and reporting to identify issues and drive continuous business improvement, through the development of tools, resources and/or processes.
  • Preparing of briefing materials, correspondence, reports, and other products for the Minister, departmental executives, and other industry stakeholders
  • Gathering, understanding and prioritising business needs, in addition to producing innovative solutions to problems and driving project outcomes

The APS6 Compliance Officer Team Leader is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. You will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the departmnet's objectives. The position will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues.

The role is required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership within the work area.


  • Undertaking and managing complex and sensitive compliance reviews.
  • Monitoring and reporting work output and quality against established performance standards through analysis and reporting to the Executive/s.
  • Conducting informal discussions with staff and partners, participants, providers and third parties.
  • Gathering evidence from a range of sources and preparing assessments and determinations.
  • Preparing cases for referral to various business areas including the fraud intelligence team.
  • Supporting staff in the development of capabilities in undertaking compliance activities.
