Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, the Finance Officer is responsible for the timely and accurate provision of a range of financial and administrative services university-wide.

The Finance Officer provides a high level of customer service to internal and external customers of the University.


The incumbent is the initial contact point for a variety of enquiries from internal and external customers and is required to maintain a general knowledge of university finance and student financial policies, standards, and procedures.

The position plays a key supporting role in the maintenance and provision of a variety of financial and administrative services for Student Financials, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.


About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Follow prescribed methods to ensure timely turnaround time of Finance/Student Financial tasks in relevant Finance/Student/University systems.

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable enquiries and invoice processing
  • Trade and Student Debt Management including follow up of aged debts.
  • Timely query resolution
  • Process and administration of student debt related queries
  • Credit Card processing and queries
  • Respond to general enquiries related to the university's finance, student finance and administrative functions within a timely manner
  • Provide direct support to Team Manager, Finance and general support for the University's financial administration procedures and processes.
  • Provide general clerical support to staff within the Finance Operations team
  • Take a proactive approach to helping people from other parts of the University

Qualifications

  • Completion of an associated diploma level qualification with relevant workrelated experience or a certificate level qualification with postcertificate relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
