As a member of our team, you will play an important role in providing high quality service to theatres and other clinical areas.


About us:


Knox Private Hospital is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 295 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, 20 bed ICU/CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories.


Our theatre complex has recently grown to 15 theatres including a Day Procedure Centre, Hybrid Theatre and supports a range of acute specialties including General, Endoscopy, Colorectal, Bariatric & Liver surgery, advanced laparoscopic procedures, Cardiac, Neuro, Orthopaedic, Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, Vascular, ENT & Paediatric surgery.


As Theatre Technician, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Delivering excellent service and care to patients
  • Assisting with Team time out, correct site surgery and patient positioning
  • Setting up and preparation of the operating theatre prior to surgery
  • Transporting patient to and from the operating theatre, and assisting with safe patient transfer on and off the operating table
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly, correctly positioned in theatre and maintained
  • Undertake designated cleaning tasks certifying a high standard of cleanliness is maintained utilising standard precautions, between cases and end of list

Essential criteria:


  • Certificate III/IV in Health Services Assistant (Operating Theatre Technician)
  • Minimum 12 months experience in the perioperative setting as a Theatre Technician
  • Sound knowledge of theatre equipment and safe practices
  • Previous experience in providing safe and appropriate patient care in clinical environment
  • Working in a team environment including taking accountability, working to national standards, guidelines and hospital policies & taking directions from senior staff when needed
  • Possess organisational skills and completes documentation to a high standard
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems when they arise
  • Sound and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role
  • Available for flexible work hours (Monday
  • Saturday and On call)
