Why do we need you?
An exciting opportunity exists within the Customer Service team at Hume City Council for
four temporary Customer Service Officers.

We are looking for a person with great communication skills, is adaptable, embraces change, loves working with people and takes pride in their work.


This role is suited to someone with an eye for detail, is a quick learner and who has the ability to easily swap tasks as required.

In the Customer Experience team, you will be the first point of contact for Hume residents through all channels of communication.


About You
As Customer Service Officer who is passionate about delivering high-quality services your responsibility/qualifications and expertise will include but not limited to:

  • Maintaining a professional and welcoming image that promotes the Council as a customer focused organisation by actively demonstrating a culture of excellence
  • Resolve a wide variety enquiries at the first point of contact or where necessary, direct an enquiry to the most suitable team to assist.
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of Council operations, and proficient use of Council systems
  • Utilise a wide variety of technology internal systems, Council's website and thirdparty websites to assist customers to selfservice were possible.
  • Manage cash collection duties related to the taking of all Council monies.
