About the opportunity


In this role you will be responsible for partnering with the business as well as service providers to ensure efficient flow and distribution of products to customers are maintained.

You will also be responsible for leading and developing a team as well as partake in continuous improvement initiatives.


Duties

  • Manage and coordinate the import of products in keeping with trade compliance.
  • Collaborate and work closely with suppliers and service providers to ensure efficient product flow.
  • Manage overall warehousing and distribution activities.
  • Partake in vendor selection, evaluation, performance monitoring and cost analysis & control for customs agent, 3PL and transportation.
  • Manage and build strong business relationships with the 3PL to ensure SLA's, compliance and company goals are met in regards to distribution.
  • Lead and develop logistics team members.
  • Seek out and implement continuous improvements across logistics and distribution processes.
  • Ensure quality standards are adhered to in line with the industry regulations.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in Freight, Logistics and Distribution Management within a highly regulated industry is required.
  • Experience working within the medical device, pharmaceutical or FMCG industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of trade compliance and importing of products is highly regarded.
  • Experience managing 3PL and measuring/reviewing SOP's and SLA's is essential.
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to problem solve and present solutions.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills is a must.
  • Sound knowledge of quality procedures in a regulated industry is required.
  • Experience working with SAP is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to generate reports and create visibility across logistics and distribution for internal teams.
  • Hands on leader.
  • Ability to identify gaps, implement process improvements and run cost saving initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen and vendor management.
