As part of the eCom business within WooliesX that is currently delivering orders through multiple channels from 5AM - 11PM daily, you are responsible for planning, management and development of our Last Mile fleet assets and capability, driving outcomes to ensure both profitability and consistency of service for the eCom business.


The Role

As the
National Fleet Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of our fleet of Woolworths-branded delivery vehicles.

Ensure that the fleet is well-maintained, efficient, and reliable to meet the needs of the business.

You will also be responsible for driving our fleet asset roadmap in conjunction with our business development, commercial and operations teams across Last Mile.


In this role, key responsibilities will be:

  • Management and maintenance of the fleet of delivery vehicles in partnership with our 3PL provider to ensure they are in good condition, roadworthy, and comply with all relevant regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the efficient use of the fleet to maximise productivity and minimise costs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our 3PL, vendors, and FMO service providers to ensure that the fleet is wellserviced, maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Manage fleet ordering, commissioning and decommissioning in partnership with group procurement, the operations team, commercial team and 3PL.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant compliance, health and safety regulations, including risk assessments, safe working practices, accident and emissions reporting.
  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership on the performance of the fleet, including KPIs, cost savings, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead various initiatives related to the fleet including the operational transition to new vehicle types or technology implementations.

Who we're looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation including leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures, as well as relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven change management experience.
  • Experience in delivering initiatives/projects.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team and influence outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software programs. (preferred but not required)
  • Valid driver's licence and a good driving record.
