The Role

Due to recent growth in clients and repeat business opportunities, our Brisbane office is looking for a Senior Civil Designer to join our team.

We encourage you to bring along your previous consulting experience and be ready to participate in a fast-growing team.


A strong attraction of Northrop is the ability to develop your leaderships skills through the opportunity on every project to assist and lead the delivery of the design documentation phase, working alongside experienced Senior Civil Designers and Project Managers.


In addition to the project autonomy, you will have the support and guidance of being part of a civil design team with extensive experience across all facets of property development and government sector work.

  • Proven experience as a competent Civil designer with local experience within SEQ projects.
  • Specific experience within the Master Planned Land Subdivision Communities will be advantageous, however experience in Medium Scale and Infill Urban Residential Land Development is necessary
  • A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and lead problem solving processes
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and goals at the same time, whilst working autonomously
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications
  • Understanding of local government regulatory frameworks and statuary compliance requirements
  • Experience with civil design packages, 12D and AutoCAD
  • Experience with sewerage and water reticulation design and a good understanding of the SEQ Water Authorities standards.
  • Excellent communication skills able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly in managing external consultants
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the project team, both internally and externally
  • Creative problemsolving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles
  • Strong team ethic to work collaboratively across functional group
