Position Summary:


The purpose of the Key Account Manager position is to promote, sell and secure new business accounts resulting to increased market share along with management of internal and external area sales team.

Full line management of end user sales engineers, with responsibility of developing and mentoring direct reports.


Essential Responsibilities:

Education / Qualifications

  • Degree Bachelor degree in Commerce, Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Experience

  • Selling and marketing product offerings in the rotating equipment sector
  • Knowledge on different market segments desirable (Oil and Gas / Resources)) in the field of ITT opportunities: Pumps, Seals, Lubrication, Monitoring, Reliability, Energy, Inventory Programs
  • Previous experience within an engineering company
  • Previous experience within a global company working at all levels
  • Experience in working for complex multinational organisations and dealing with different business cultures desirable.

Other

  • Must have excellent communication and organisation skills, have the ability to work in and foster a team environment and have a strong focus on health and safety
  • Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Availability to travel to support planned business growth.

Fitness for Work

  • Must present in a fit for work state at all times
Must be physically able to sit for long periods at a time.


Position Requirements:

  • Achieve target order numbers, drive expense objectives in overall area or region and maintain a lean sustainable future along with budget controls
  • Drive VBCE process within region and align customers to company goals
  • Develop existing accounts to maximise market penetration and create new business opportunities within assigned territories and work across functions and Industrial Process
  • Market actively new products and create strong awareness of IP capabilities at all accounts to attain market leadership position through segment positioning and strategic price management
  • Gain access to market intelligence about competitor's products and services and market trends; providing competitive product, commercial, and market feedback to the Company
  • Increase market share through implementation of the strategies in the region to achieve sales and establish a sustainable future business platform
  • Through alignment with VBCE goals, search for new customers and maintain existing customers focusing on establishment of strong long term relationships through routine, proactive and professional interactions
  • Demonstrate market knowledge of pricing and competitive trends within region
  • Develop sales strategy that provides highvalue services to customers and projects ITT into a leading market position within region
  • Maintain personal awareness of current technological advances in pump improvement techniques
  • Develop and strengthen customer relationships through routine, proactive and professional interactions
  • Provide guidance on management of commercial aspects of solutions associated with rotating equipment and deliver these recommended solutions in the form of commercial proposals in a timely manner
  • Articulate the vision of designated region, inspire confidence and be an agent of change throughout ITT Blakers
  • Identify obstacles and deploy solutions to maximise growth of region
  • Respond to high level internal and external queries, ensure conformance with customer expectations, provide customers with status updates and job specific information
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of technical presentations promoting ITT's technology and how our products meet clients' needs along with the promotion of all ITT's products and capability
  • Maintain effective quality control and assurance systems/programs for direct area
  • Streamline procedures, develop policies and work practices
  • Maintain records of customer communication, quote status and sales activity in CRM, Quote Register and established internal communication systems
  • Reporting including VBCE updates (monthly) and call reports (monthly) along with providing market analysis (monthly), market reports (monthly), budget reports (fortnightly) and forecasts (fortnightly) by utilising tools provided for example ERP system
  • Execute manager level responsibilities in Workday and where appropriate maintain own employee data
  • Any other tasks as advised by their Manager or Supervisor that are within their skills and competence.
