Our client provides engineering solutions for concrete strengthening and remediation, who specialise specifically in the upgrade, modification and repair of all concrete structures.

National Engineering Manager - Concrete Strengthening and Remediation.


Role:


National Engineering Manager - Sydney or Melbourne Based

  • The National Design Manager responsible for the growth of our clients Remediation business within then the Building, Civil Engineering across Sydney, Melbourne, and Western Australia.
  • Oversee and ensure the successful completion of structural projects from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with the wider office and team members to deliver highquality outcomes on projects.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, striving to enhance workflow and efficiency within the team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers, offering mentorship and problem resolution.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

  • Knowledge and expertise in the Remediation of Building & Civil Engineering Sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial building structural engineering design and remediation within Australia with International experienced valued also.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with builders, architects, and clients.
  • Expertise and design history in the strengthening and remediation of concrete structures
  • Design experience in engineering of Carbon fibre strength remediation of concrete structures
  • Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer System design experience a bonus (CFRP)
  • Knowledge and methodologies in CFRP, Design and Construct, Heavy Lifting and Monitoring, Tendon Truncations, GPR Scanning, Crack Injection, and Concrete Repair.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure solutions are practical and most importantly, reliable.
  • Conducting structural design for posttensioned and reinforced concrete members.
  • Proficient in designing posttensioned and reinforced concrete members.
  • Conduct forensic engineering investigations into damage and defects within buildings and other civil engineering infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical reports providing root cause analysis.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to our client's core business units.
  • Provide expert testimony as needed.
  • Manage and lead investigative teams, providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders and identify new business opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and developments in forensic engineering.
  • Excellent technical skills and ability to perform design calculations independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a great team player
  • Familiarity with structural design software's
  • Rams, Concept, Sika Software, Raft.
  • Collaborating with team members and communicating effectively
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Formulate a solution to a Structural defect across Building and Civil Engineer sectors

BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Role specific requirements

  • Remediation Knowledge of Building Structure and Civil Structures and ability to formulate a design and solution to strengthening, remediation of concrete structures.
  • Lifecycle knowledge of cause, effect & design remediation process to the clients' needs.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Australian Standards.
  • Minimum 8 years' local or international experience preferably working on design/ remediation of residential/commercial/ civil structures, CFRP.
  • Conducting structural design for posttensioned and reinforced concrete members as well as steel structures.
  • Performing design calculations independently and ensuring they meet Australian Standards.
  • Collaborating with team members and communicating effectively
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring timely delivery.
  • University degree qualifications in structural engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of structural engineering consultancy design experience.
  • Chartered status with Engineers Australia preferred or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience within Australia of structural and civil engineering design.
