About You and the Role


Reporting to the Program Director, you will prepare and conduct learning activities including lectures, tutorials and assessments using a variety of pedagogical techniques to foster student learning.

You will undertake various administrative functions and reflect on your personal teaching practice, seeking feedback to implement strategies for improvement.


About the Clinical and Health Sciences Academic Unit


One of seven Academic Units, UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences offers a wide range of degrees and conducts world-class research in the fields of nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, pharmaceutical science, medical sciences, laboratory medicine, and food and nutrition science with a strong focus on creating positive health outcomes for communities.

Our degrees are designed and delivered to meet the ever-evolving needs of industry, ensuring graduates are career ready and equipped with the skills to meet future demands.


Students learn from industry professionals and their experience extends beyond the classroom, with access to purpose-built facilities, including a wide range of laboratories and simulated hospital and health services environments located on campus.

Students also get hands-on experience by completing fieldwork and clinical placement throughout their studies.

UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences has clinical agreements with all local health networks, major hospitals, private health providers, rural health networks, aged care services and mental health services.

This includes partnerships with SA Health, Calvary Hospital, Cancer Council SA and Helping Hand.

Situated within the UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences, the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre develops and undertakes a broad program of health care research in the areas of clinical, population health and health systems/services that inform:

  • the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre strategic plan
- the UniSA research and innovation strategic plan. This focus builds onto and complements UniSA's extensive interests in other areas of nursing and midwifery, epidemiology and population health, health sciences, and cell biology, drug discovery, and drug delivery research.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife, without notations or conditions, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources
  • Highlevel written and oral communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to actively engage and educate a student group
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to continual development and performance improvement
