About the role
The key purpose of the role is to manage the complete operations of a manufacturing facility.

Achieve the planned production levels safely and with mínimal defects - and at optimum cost while complying with our client's contractual obligations.

This position is reporting to the National Operations Manager and you will be responsible for the following:

  • Site Leadership
  • Accountable for leading and managing all site activities including Safety Management, Production, Maintenance and Projects
  • Optimise site metrics consisting of Defect Rates, Safety Metrics, Productivity and Cost
  • Ensure good constructive working relationships with clients
  • People, HR & IR
  • Lead recruitment, development and retention of employees onsite in addition to ensuring company's interests are managed
  • Manage performance, safety and behavioural issues onsite
  • Participate in IR negotiations at a site level on behalf of the business ensuring positive labour relations are maintained
  • Safety & Quality Systems
  • Develop and lead a collaborative, people centric site safety culture that focuses on the big risks and is consistent with the company's safety initiative
  • Ensure maintenance of the Integrated Management system onsite and maintain compliance with ISO Standards and annual audits
  • Adhere to company processes ensuring activities comply with legal and ethical standards

  • Operational Quality Checks
  • Planning & Inventory Management
  • Engage with sales, systems and engineering staff to develop production plans
  • Create and maintain the plant master plan including the entering of orders and production info
  • Maintain and administer accurate raw materials and finished goods inventory management systems
  • Ensure physical stock counts are conducted quarterly and correctly administer stock levels in SYSPRO
  • Maintenance & Capital Improvements
  • Ensure maintenance routines are in place and delivered monthly
  • Develop business case for process improvements and capital improvement projects and project manage to completion
  • Conduct maintenance meetings
  • Scale, allocate and review capital works projects
  • Day to day reporting of maintenance personnel
  • Productivity & Cost Control
  • Monitor and maintain optimum shift structures and schedules, optimising labour cost and maximising productivity
  • Monitor site running costs including overheads, plant running and variable costs
  • Identify and act in accordance with the commercial conditions and constraints of customer orders and contracts
  • Support the procurement function on operations onsite

About You

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry
  • An engineering degree/Trade Certificate / other Tertiary Qualifications (OR) equivalent industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Relevant experience in engineering and management roles
