KSC1:

Demonstrated experience in assessing, conceptualising and analysing student behaviour concerns, and providing evidence-based support and guidance to staff and families.


KSC2:
Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing evidence-based intervention strategies for students with complex behaviour needs.

KSC3:

Highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise effectively and work collaboratively with a wide range of people within the educational community.


KSC4:

Ability to provide professional learning that informs and influences the work of others involved in the engagement and well-being of children and young people.


KSC5:
A clear understanding of legislative requirements regarding the privacy of health information.

KSC6:

Role:


  • The role may include but is not limited to:
Deliver professional support services in the school, including case management for students with various behaviour issues.


Plan and implement evidence-based intervention strategies for students with complex needs including collaborating with families, school staff, other professionals and agencies when appropriate, and manage the associated risks.

Conduct individual assessments for students with a range of complex needs as requested by the Principal or their delegate. Developing and monitoring the effectiveness of Behaviour Support Plans will be required

Provide feedback and support for staff including discussion, modelling and guidance regarding the implementation of recommendations.

Provide feedback and support for families regarding individual students


Liaise with and advise teachers, Education Support Staff, and parents/carers regarding the support and intervention needs of students assigned to you.

Liaise with internal and external agencies to maximise outcomes for students and their families.

Assist in the development and support of a variety of plans based on student needs.

Assist in providing documents (e.g. behaviour support plan, therapy letters, specialist letter/report) for the Disability Inclusion funding Tier 3 applicants

Provide professional learning to others, such as teachers and other staff, to better understand multi-tiered supports and practices


Provide professional advice and support to Principal Class, school staff and families that will enhance the learning, development and well-being of students, particularly those who are most vulnerable.


Member of the school¿s Inclusion and Wellbeing Team, and working collaboratively, under the direction of the Disability, Inclusion and Wellbeing Leader.

This includes case referrals, case discussions, and agenda items for the Inclusion and Wellbeing Team or school.

Where required, participate in Student Support Group meetings to assist in the implementation of meeting actions.

Maintain accurate and detailed case notes and student files in accordance with school guidelines.

When required, work collaboratively with the school to contribute to policies and operational practices that will guide the work of others

Maintain professional competence and continued professional learning, including attending professional development activities throughout the year.

Meet relevant policies and legislative requirements in relation to student health information privacy

Engage in extracurricular activities as a staff member of the school, e.g. whole school professional learning,


Responsibilities:


  • Providing advice and professional learning to others, including teachers and other school wellbeing staff, to build the capacity of schools to improve students wellbeing, learning and developmental outcomes.
  • Planning and implementing evidencebased intervention strategies for students with complex needs including collaborating with families, other professionals and agencies when appropriate to effectively manage risk.
  • Working collaboratively with the school to enhance mental health prevention and promotion across the school by contributing to policies and operational practices that will guide the work of others, including other school wellbeing staff and teachers.
  • Liaising with other department areas (including secondary school nurses and Student Support Services staff) and external service providers where necessary to provide appropriate support to students.
  • Maintaining professional competence and continued professional development, including attending professional development activities throughout the year.
  • Meeting relevant policies and legislative requirements in relation to student health information, privacy and consent.
