The Opportunity
Our Federal Government client is a community focused Agency. They have an exciting opportunity for an

APS6 Practice Management Officer to join the team in Geelong or Richmond.

  • 12month initial Labour Hire contract with the opportunity to extend
  • APS6 level role offering $60.26ph + Superannuation
  • To be based out of either Richmond or Geelong.
This is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks, with 7.5-hour work days.

The

Practice Management team is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and training new staff to the Chief Counsel Division. The

APS6 Practice Management role will involve undertaking end to end induction and onboarding activities, including communicating with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating calendar management, and troubleshooting a range of issues varying in complexity.

The position will require attendance at Branch and Divisional meetings as well as at the fortnightly induction sessions.

The team aims to improve the experience of new starters to the Agency by nurturing their growth and making them feel like a valued member of the team from day one.

The

APS6 Practice Management is a team leadership position and as such will work closely with the EL1 Practice Manager and will oversee a team of APS4 and APS5 Practice Managers as well as communicating regularly with other internal and external stakeholders. The role is required to provide leadership, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team within the work area.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting in internal and external APS and contractor recruitment activities and onboarding processes for the branch, including ordering assets and organising access to facilities and systems.
  • Supporting the procurement of both legal and labour hire contractors for the branch.
  • Providing administrative support, including triaging and mailbox management as well as adhoc duties as required for the Practice management team.
  • Coordinating the learning and development activities for the Division, including booking training, travel and processing payments as required.
  • Maintaining the training calendar and assisting with the new starter induction.
  • Updating the branch intranet page and website, ensuring content and communications are current.
  • Assisting in preparing reports and analysing data for the division.

  • Strong skills in MS Office
  • Exposure to recruitment, training, onboarding
  • Ability to understand policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Government experience highly regarded
