    About the position

The contract role of Procurement Manager is one where you can make a tangible difference, not just in the way that Compassion procures goods and services, but also as part of a team where every position in the organisation supports the mission to 'Release Children from Poverty, in Jesus' Name'.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the position has been created to deliver significant savings across major spend categories, primarily across corporate services.

This person will also focus on developing a more efficient procurement process for the team to utilise well into the future.


The Procurement Manager will:

  • Develop and implement a category management program with clear saving goals and implement a method to track procurement savings;
  • Design and implement preferred supplier framework. Conduct RFx processes to establish preferred supplier arrangements for the largest expenditure categories; and,
  • Review, strengthen, simplify, and streamline procurement business processes.

As Procurement Manager you get excited by the opportunity to deliver value by working with suppliers to create trusted and long-lasting partnerships, whilst looking for opportunities to streamline and strengthen the procurement process.


You will possess:

  • 5+ years' experience in Category Management Knowledge of Procure to Pay process automation Highly developed negotiation and supplier management skills Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a simple executive format Willingness to deliver, receive and learn from feedback received
