About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of mental health.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and wider mental health care team support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of mental health.

This position will deliver high level specialist statewide transcultural mental health clinical consultation services and as a member of a multidisciplinary team for consumers from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds across the state.

The position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating transcultural mental health clinical education strategies aligned with Queensland Health workforce development frameworks, initiatives and organisational strategic directions.

The position will work with a network of educators and other relevant positions to facilitate the delivery of education in cultural competence in transcultural mental health statewide.
