About this opportunity


The key focus of this role is to advise the Operations Manager and drive a safety and improvement culture on site.

The HSES Advisor will develop robust strategies and implement sustainable processes to support business objectives.


Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Co-coordinate the Work Health, Safety and Environment systems
  • Review, implement and maintain the Group WHSE system
  • Ensure group and site WHSE policies & procedures are maintained and distributed to relevant personnel
  • Ensure the WHS system meets current WHS legislation
  • Lead all external WHSE audits, including develop and management of the corrective and preventative action plans
  • Complete Customer WHS and Environmental Surveys or Assessments
  • Ensure WHSE system complies to Customer Quality or Integrity requirements.
  • Track key systems indicators and report results to Management, including but not limited to accidents, incidents and near misses risks and hazards
  • Ensure any essential WHSE external training has been assessed, planned and completed, including first aid officers and area wardens
  • Ensure all safety training and competency for all personnel is identified, scheduled and completed.
  • Assist in managing workers compensation claims as directed by the group
  • Ensuring the ReturntoWork program is implemented and complied to
  • Liaise with injured workers, Insurance and rehabilitation providers as required.
  • Ensure all first aid and safety equipment, first aid stations and room have been maintained by designated personnel
  • Ensure housekeeping program is implemented, maintained and effective.
  • Participate on the WHS Committee
  • Ensure investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, hazards or identified risks have been adequately completed
  • Liaise with all Department Managers and personnel to ensure WHSE action plans are completed

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Certificate IV or degree in Safety related field
- some experience in Chemical, Manufacturing or food environments

  • Familiarity with Quality Systems, GMP, HACCP, AS/NZS 480
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and technology (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Project Management tools)
  • Knowledge of Industrial Relations, WHSE Laws and Cultural Diversity in Workplace

Salary:
$80, $110,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Annual bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Hornsby, NSW 2077: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
