As an educator of excellence, you should exhibit initiative and have a problem-solving approach to develop solutions that will cater to the wide variety of demands in our large, complex school.

You may be required to lead whole school initiatives and as such your motivation, energy, and flexibility should be evident.

You will lead a high-performing team, initially the Year 7 & 8 portfolio, and should apply and adapt your skills, knowledge, and understanding to support our staff and students.

These skills should enable you to engage in effective and positive interactions to develop and maintain strong relationships with staff, students and the community.

    About the role
Associate Principals work collaboratively within a framework of negotiated areas of responsibility.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Principal as part of the school's executive team to provide educational leadership, innovation, strategic planning, and promotion of the school's vision, mission and values in the school community.

To be successful in the role you will ideally be highly motivated, energetic and possess the qualities needed to bring people together, identify opportunities and establish new initiatives.

You will ideally display effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop and maintain positive partnerships and collaborate effectively with others.

Your forward-thinking and strategic planning skills should enable you to forecast the school's needs and priorities, to effectively develop and implement successful strategies that maintain our reputation as one of Western Australia's leading schools.

You should anticipate change and put strategies in place to ensure the school is equipped to meet student learning outcomes and performance expectations for years to come.

You will be a prominent representative of the Principal at student and community events aligned to the Year 7 & 8 portfolio.

As a member of the school's executive, you will establish and maintain collaborative and respectful relationships with the school community, ensuring all students' needs are met.

Through building a culture of trust and collaboration, you will encourage feedback from staff and students to contribute to school decision-making.

With the commitment and desire to create and sustain a student-centred learning environment built on strong relationships, you will identify and implement strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and their families.

You should communicate effectively and with diplomacy and modify your leadership behaviour to obtain the best outcomes from all, whilst modelling and promoting the school's vision, mission and core values: focused on the continual development of a teaching and learning culture dedicated to the success of every child.
