We are seeking a suitably experienced Learning Resource Centre Officer to join our College on a casual basis.-
Key responsibilities include:
  • Support the effective and efficient day
  • to
  • day operations of the campus LRC
  • Support the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in implementing the College's Learning Resource Centre Vision
  • Support the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in promoting safe and responsible digital citizenship
  • Support the implementation of the online site for learning resources by adding content recommended by teachers or the College Learning Resource Centre Manager
  • Carrying out Purchasing Officer functions for a range of Learning Areas
  • Assist the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in ensuring the physical space of the LRC is proportional to the needs of the contemporary learners, emphasising the importance of independent and collaborative learning spaces and the Digital Learning Program
  • Assist the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in ensuring the LRC fully embraces the College's Positive Learning Partnerships Program
Promote the LRC as an engaging, purposeful, innovative and welcoming environment for students and staff

  • Actively supervise students, including ensuring attendance is managed appropriately
  • Support individual students or small groups of students with strategies for accessing resources for their learning
  • Assist the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in ensuring the implementation of direction from the College Learning Resource Centre Leader on the management of LRC resources
  • Assist the College Learning Resource Centre Manager in organising, managing and distributing LRC resources, including the cataloguing of resources and execution of borrowing procedures
  • Attend College Learning Resource Centres Team Meetings
  • Library technician qualification or considerable experience in copy cataloguing, importing MARC/SCIS records, and original cataloguing
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to complete relevant training
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Good time management skills with the ability to demonstrate initiative
Confidence and skill in working positively with staff and students

  • IT skills and a commitment to the ongoing development of further IT skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Workflow management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Understanding of relevant compliance regimes
  • Commitment to occupational health and safety
  • Understanding of and commitment to Catholic education
