The Team
The national Client & Market Growth team at MinterEllison is an integral part of our Firm's success.

We provide a full spectrum of business development and marketing services to ensure the Firm develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients.

The role sits within the Markets & Commercial Excellence team, which is responsible for the Firm's proposals, pricing, market research and insights, and client engagement.

This team also drives best practice business development processes and tools across the Firm.


Your Role


The Pricing Manager is a key role in the Firm's pricing team, which drives the pricing strategy and provides specialist coaching to Partners on value and pricing in their dealings with clients.

The Pricing Manager will work closely with the Pricing Lead to develop and implement pricing initiatives that enhance the Firm's profitability and competitiveness.

The Pricing Manager will manage a senior analyst and provide them with guidance and feedback on their work.

Your responsibilities will include


In this role, you will support the Pricing Lead to deliver specialist pricing advice and commercial insights to the Firm.

Your responsibilities will include working with the bid / sales team, finance and other Client & Market Growth team members to:

- support the Pricing Lead in developing and executing the pricing strategy and vision for the Firm
- manage a pricing analyst and oversee their day-to-day work, ensuring high quality and timely delivery of pricing services
- provide coaching and feedback to the pricing analyst and Client & Market Growth team members to support them in their roles
- provide advice and coaching to Partners on value and pricing, including proposals and price negotiations, and pricing strategy decisions. Evaluate the commerciality of client and matter engagements and make recommendations for optimising profitability and value delivery
- maintain and enhance the Firm's existing pricing performance reporting processes, including internal and market analysis to identify opportunities and risks for the Firm
- collaborate with Finance and Data teams to enhance the Firm's pricing analytics and tool suite to enhance effectiveness, frontline empowerment and useability, with guidance from other pricing team members
- maintain and enhance pricing-related support information, including content, guidelines, benchmarks, standard commercial terms
- build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Partners, clients, finance, Client & Market Growth and legal project management
- promote a culture of pricing excellence and innovation within the Firm.


You will have:

- a minimum of 4 years of experience in a pricing or commercial role, preferably in a professional services or legal environment
- a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or other Management Accounting qualification.
- a passion for using data and analytics to solve business challenges coupled with strong numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- management and leadership skills, with the ability to oversee and mentor team members and ensure alignment with the firm's strategic goals and objectives.
- excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- a strong desire to collaborate with a diverse array of individuals in different functions, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality and responsive outcomes. Being a team player is important to us.
- ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- advanced skills in MS Office suite, especially Excel, and capability to work with large data sets with attention to detail.


Ideally you will also have:

- experience with business intelligence and data visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.

  • SQL skills and relational database knowledge.
- prior experience with Elite 3E and / or Jedox.
