Role Overview

  • Sitting within our system team squad, this role stays up to date on our system changes, new tools, testing methods and can establish testing processes and practices that product the highest quality code/product.
  • In this role, the QA Lead develops effective and efficient methods and processes, drives QA process maturity, and collaborates with development teams to provide a reliable, consistent, and positive enduser experience.
  • The QA Lead will work with relevant teams across the organization to facilitate rigorous testing throughout the product development process, mitigate risks, deploy updates, and be responsible for monitoring the consistency of the production process including facilitating the resolution of production issues.

Responsibilities:

People Management:


  • Coordinate with the GM Engineering to set up the QA team determining the testing capacity of each product squad.
  • Create and maintain a positive team culture that focuses on collaboration, quality work output and continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentoring and test assistance to other members of the team.

Setting Quality Standards:


  • Define and monitor essential QA metrics to ensure a healthy and efficient QA process particularly production system health check.
  • Introduce and update QA processes in collaboration with the QA engineers, developers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Agile testing practices of our delivery teams ensuring the delivery of highquality and valuable products or features.
  • Document and communicate QArelated risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a QA framework (processes, templates, and tools) that will support the needs of both product development and releases.
  • Manage the development of a comprehensive regression test suite for the core systems.
  • Ensure those test artifacts are reviewed, validated, and approved appropriately.
  • Participate in Release planning and implementation, ensuring that release items are ready for release.
  • Lead a defect triage meeting to define the severity and priority of defects.

QA Production Support:


  • Enable the team to identify opportunities to drive further maturity of the QA process by effectively using QA processes and tools within the team and proactively recommending improvements and new approaches.
  • Responsible to ensure that endtoend tests are run in multiple environments to verify that the full system operates without functional, security, integration or other issues.
  • Primary POC responsible for observing a comprehensive system quality by coordinating with relevant teams when production issue occurs.

QA Automation and Improvements:

  • Drive changes and improvements that can lead to better product quality.
  • Always look for continuous improvement in test practice and processes, leveraging our increased coverage of automation testing.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks including regression testing, performance testing and security testing frameworks.

Environment Management:


  • Take ownership of all Testing, QA, and preproduction environments.
  • Manage Test environments and processes for code deployments from Development to test and QA.
  • Manage environment refreshes based on team demand.

Skills and Attributes:


  • Demonstrated success in process improvement to drive test efficiency.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong People Leadership skills, with excellent rapport building and communication abilities.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to critically analyse.
  • Experience with contributing to, or driving, testing documentation and reporting.
  • Experience in engaging with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Strong knowledge in Retail / eCommerce / MarTech.
  • Excellent understanding of Agile software development methodologies and processes.
  • Strong experience in defect management tools like JIRA.
  • Strong experience in managing release conflicts.
  • Proven experience in driving test automation strategies from inception through to implementation.
  • Experience in test automation tools like Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, SoapUI.
  • Experience in Performance testing tools like JMeter and LoadRunner.
  • Experience in DevOps automation using tools such as Jenkins, Github etc.
  • Handson experience working technologies/platforms e.g. AWS, Dockers, Containers, Openstack.
  • Another cool thing, we're right smackband in the middle of Sydney CBD (next to the QVB) so we're easy to get to.
