POSITION OVERVIEW:
Located on the Canberra Hospital campus, the Office of the Chief Executive provides strategic support to the Chief Executive Officer, undertaking high level coordination, liaison, research and reporting and provision of advice on specific issues.
The Executive Assistant position reports to the Director and works closely with the senior leaders, including the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Divisional Executives and their support teams across the Directorate.
DUTIES:
Under limited direction of the Director and Chief Executive Officer, you will:
- Support the Chief Executive Officer and office by providing diary management and meeting support, travel, financial processing, secretariat support, drafting correspondence, reports and submissions;
- In consultation with the Director, ensure the Chief Executive is appropriately briefed for all meetings;
- Monitor and manage the flow of all incoming and outgoing correspondence in the Chief Executive's inbox ensuring rapid turnaround of correspondence through research and liaison with the Executive Officer to ensure appropriate action is taken;
- Maintain liaison with Ministerial offices, Office of the Head of Service and other key Divisions and stakeholders across CHS and ACT Government;
- Provide leadership and support to the Executive Assistant cohort across CHS ensuring they are briefed regularly;
- Represent the CEO division as a Work, Health and Safety Officer; and
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the Division.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:
Mandatory
- CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.
- Relevant public sector or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working in the health sector is highly desirable.
- Have an understanding of how the National Standards and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.
- Undergo a preemployment National Police Check.
