You'll guide a team of content contributors across the organisation to deliver best-practice digital communication
- from local tourism and cultural events to sustainable traffic improvements - that are accessible, engaging and community-centric.
We're seeking an experienced web content specialist to own and drive our web content management system.
As a creative problem solver and people leader, you'll who knows the ins and outs of websites and champion what makes great content based on accessibility, SEO and UX principles.
- Strategising ways to improve grants and community strengthening web content
- Shaping future web content guidelines for our new CMS
- Upskilling content contributors
- Meeting with diverse and passionate internal business partners to help ensure their content remains customercentric,
- Evaluating UX improvements to live chat and digital assist uptake
The role sits within the high-performing and collaborative Digital Communications and Marketing Branch within the Governance, Communications and Customer Experience Division.
The role:
- Deliver BAU website updates for internal stakeholders you'll need to be hands on assisting other CMS users to edit and publish content.
- Manage the deployment process of website bug fixes and minor enhancements, working with our web development agency.
- Work with Yarra's CMS users as part of our established governance model.
- Provide consultations to internal stakeholders on how to best market and/or promote their services.
- Document requirements for website enhancements to clearly state the business case and impacts.
- Use Google Analytics to report on website usage across Yarra's external website properties.
- Plan and execute the digital strategy for the ongoing development of our websites
- Sit on Yarra's website steering committee and offer expert advice for both BAU and future planning for our website.
- Provide support and training to other CMS users to improve their writing for the web and publishing skills.
- Demonstrate people leadership to line manage a digital and web officer who supports BAU requests and troubleshooting.
To be successful, you will require:
- Several years' experience in a similar role within a complex, high-pressure environment.
- Extensive experience and demonstrated ability in managing responsive websites and managing website CMS systems (ideally Sitecore and/or Drupal), including expertise in user experience, information architecture, measurement, and analytics to drive engagement.
- Experience with mobile responsive and crossbrowser testing to ensure a highquality user experience.
- Experience in the creation of website content in line with accessibility standards (AA), including ongoing improvement with quality assurance and improving accessibility rating with the support of accessibility tools.
- High level skill in delivering SEO optimised content.
- Experience with hosting environments, troubleshooting, and debugging to optimise performance.
- Impeccable writing for the web, spelling and grammar, with a superior eye for detail.
- Good understanding of W3C standards.
- Extensive stakeholder and project management experience, with an ability to distil technical terms into easily understood actions.
Not mandatory, but desirable:
- Hands on experience using Drupal and Sitecore
- Read/write HTML
- Photoshop skills
