Within our Industrial & Waste Services business unit, we provide total waste management business solutions to our customers including:
Industrial cleaning services such as non-destructive digging, concrete demolition, high pressure water blasting, vacuum loading, shutdown services, pipe, drain and tank cleaning, emergency spills response and CCTV.
We service industries including infrastructure construction, manufacturing, food, agriculture, chemicals, and oil and gas.
Our business unit is growing rapidly and to support our Mission we have an exciting, rare opportunity for a Fleet and Equipment Manager to join our leadership team.
About the role
This role holds a position on the Leadership Team of Industrial & Waste Services and works collaboratively with the Regional and Branch Managers and other key stakeholders nationwide to drive commercial, technical fleet and equipment outcomes to ensure the highest levels of driver, fleet, equipment safety and compliance, optimized utilization, reliability, and unit costs are reached.
- Review and make recommendations on the acquisitions and allocations of fleet and equipment capital investments.
- Provide reliable input into the asset cost model in tendering process for large and complex projects
- Maintenance & Supplier Management
- Ensuring that maintenance on all assets is adhered to as per the OEM or CWY Schedule. Managing the costs, quality of service and roadworthiness of all assets whilst driving down the Cost Per Operating Hour by supplier negotiation and rationalisation of suppliers and service schedule.
- Review and make recommendations on commercially viable fleet and equipment repair and maintenance capability including facility footprint rationalisation and workshop productivity improvements
- Reporting on a daily / monthly basis the CPOH, Safety & Compliance of assigned assets
About you
It is expected that you will have the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrated success and experience in fleet management as well as commercial and technical fleet and equipment management
- You are familiar with the requirements of the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) and Heavy Vehicle National Law
- Proven experience in process improvement, focused on fleet and equipment efficiency
- Knowledge of local and national transport industry regulations
- Knowledge of HS&E standards and practices
- Managing experience with local/statebased supplier issues
- Negotiation and influencing skills with key internal key stakeholders
- Tertiary qualified in supply chain/engineering or similar
