The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) is Australia's national criminal intelligence agency. We advise senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia.

About the branch

The Capability Support Branch maintains relationships with our partner agencies and works with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of policing, intelligence and corporate information services to meet their business needs.

Through effective relationships with stakeholders, the branch delivers service improvement initiatives, and assist partner agencies in making informed strategic decisions and championing initiatives which improve our policing, intelligence and corporate information services.

The Capability Support Branch contributes to ACIC strategic and planned activities through the following business hubs:


  • Biometrics and Forensics
  • Frontline
  • Intelligence and Corporate

About the role

The Project Officer will support the NPCS Modernisation team in a coordination role through a comprehensive range of executive and administrative support and project management activities.

Responsibilities of the role may include the preparation and management of correspondence and reports; conducting research to support project work; managing ongoing projects; undertaking cost estimates and analysis; contributing to ministerial and board reports; contributing to secretariat functions of internal governance committees; drafting business and strategic planning documentation, risk management, and liaison with key partners and stakeholders to the Service, and key project/s.


  • Provides a comprehensive range of executive and administrative support including records management, resource management and planning, scheduling, coordination of meeting activities and secretariat services for governance boards
  • Undertakes Project Management including research and analysis and contributes to the preparation of reports and briefs on relevant program activities and/or project milestones
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of the ACIC's project management framework, procedures and tools
  • Coordinates and participates with procurements and contract management activities as well as reconciling invoices and initiating procurement approvals, where necessary
  • Coordinates workshops and meetings, including booking travel and accommodation for staff and stakeholders via online booking systems, where required

Eligibility

  • Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS, unless the agency head has agreed otherwise, in writing. For further information, contact the Recruitment Team.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold, the required security clearance for this role. All ACIC employees are required to hold a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, unless otherwise specified.
