Recfishwest provides an advocacy, consultative and advisory service to the Western Australian Government on behalf of almost 700,000 recreational fishers who access the community-owned fish resources along WA's coastline and waterways. The Opportunity:


Reporting directly to the Business Development & Partnerships Manager, you will be an integral part of the organisation, helping to ensure there are smooth administrative processes in place and our governance function is supported.

The position is offered on a permanent part-time basis (30 to 38 hours per week).


The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position and will work with a forward thinking, friendly and professional team utilising a cloud based HRIS, membership system and Microsoft 365.


Working Monday to Friday 30 to 38 hours per week across 5 days, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Human resource co-ordination including onboarding, recruitment & selection, monitoring reviews, providing interview support and WHS co-ordination.
  • Obtain quotes, arrange, and record insurances for the organisation.
  • Coordinate the AGM and administer online member voting.
  • Minute taking (out of hours) and support for the governance function.
  • Oversee membership administration.
  • Office management duties.
  • Work with the Business Support Team.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

To be successful for this great opportunity, you will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Current drivers' licence.
  • A keen interest/passion in and knowledge of recreational fishing and an appreciation of its importance to the WA lifestyle and community.
  • Able to attend up to 8 meetings/year outside of office hours.
  • Experience with an HRIS (we use Employment Hero) is desirable.
  • Experience with minute taking.
  • Experience with PowerPoint, SharePoint and MS Teams.
  • Experience with Outlook, Spreadsheets and Word Processing.
  • The ability to be agile and adaptable to rapidly shifting priorities.
  • A strong work ethic and team spirit.
